You finally made it, welcome. My name is Ed Whibley. I live and work in Silver Spring, Maryland. (Note: there is no “s” at the end of “Spring”, not that I notice when people mess it up.) I’m 49, married to The Most Wonderful Woman In The World hereafter simply known as Lisa and have 2 brilliant, funny and gorgeous daughters. I’m a graphic/web designer armed with a BS from the University of Maryland, College Park. My favorite pastimes are reading, following the Terps, Skins and Nats and trying to grasp floats and positioning. (A little css web design humor there.)

I have 3 basic goals for this site. The first is to pass on any and all hard-earned knowledge of general parenting. My second goal is to impart some knowledge of local (DC metro area) places that you can take your kids to. I hope that it will appeal to not only those of you who live here but to those traveling to DC. Lastly, I hope that you will find this site informational and fun, or at least mildly amusing. There will also be a liberal dose of every day life postings.

WarningDanger Will Robinson: I think it can be accurately said that I like colorful language. Think HBO. So, if that bothers you turn back now.

Every now and then my brilliant niece Trissa Hill will be popping up with some posts. She’s a far better writer than myself, so it’s worth checking in to read her stuff. (Any comments pointing out that fact will be summarily dismissed) Below is the bio I forced her to write and the pic we held her down to take.

I am a 32 year old white chick residing in Hockessin, DE. I grew up in various Washington, DC suburbs but settled in with my Aunty Star around the age of 10 in Bethesda, MD. After attending University of Delaware and running out of money, I transferred to University of Maryland, College Park and earned (really I did) a bachelors in Sociology. Last stop in my scholastic career: masters in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at West Chester University in PA.

A guest speaker at one of my graduate classes landed me a job at MBNA (a big bank, now Bank of America) and that’s where I met my husband, Dan. Two kids later, here I am a stay-at-home-mom or “mombi” as my daughter calls me. I follow national politics, love changing my hair color, visiting Longwood Gardens with my family and attending my Mom’s Club book club every month. I know – how do I handle such an exciting and exhilarating lifestyle?
